Monday night Nov. 19th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Roux Creole Cuisine at 860 Glenneyre St in Laguna Beach (formerly Café Zoolu) there will be a fundraiser for the goal of creating a statue for Skipper Carrillo. I know you all know and love Skipper. The project was started a couple of years ago but for various reasons has been stalled. This will be the event that kicks off a new energy that will hopefully have the statue in place within the next few months. The location for the statue will be on the Northeast corner of Park and Glenneyre Sts.
Roux will be serving their Creole food along with wine and beer or whatever non-alcoholic beverages are available. We are asking for a $100 donation ALL of which goes toward the fund. However, we will take less and certainly more if necessary. The $100 is what we are asking but we would like to have everyone donate what they can afford. In addition, there will be silent auction items as well as raffle prizes so that everyone will be able to participate. There may be “Have a Home Run Day” T-shirts and hats available for purchase as well.
100% of all money made will be going to the Skipper Carrillo Statue Fund Charitable Trust. Please write checks to the Skipper Carrillo Statue Fund. If you are unable to make it, we have set up donation drop off sites at The Saloon, Roux Creole Cuisine and at Forest & Ocean Gallery.
